This is Lethe. I realized that I don’t post much of my Lethe artwork here on DA( peeps on my LJ are used to seeing her though XD ). Lethe is mine. I adore her.

And I don’t usually do pics like this one anymore. But it was pure therapeutic and I loved doing it. <3 I wanted something simple and calm.

The title is in reference to the mythological flower that never fades.
I went ahead and decided to use the lotus( it was originally a rose) as the symbol for an amaranth flower because lotus' are symbolic of creation/cosmic renewal in Buddism/Hinduism. And I just like lotus flowers in general.
Possibly I should have made it more uniform on hindsight. But I might fix that yet.
As water ties in closely with Lethe and her world – it’s mostly desert – and as it’s the source of all life, I used that too. Lethe’s staff is what she uses to guide(and sometimes gather or summon) souls to/from the afterlife.
