Right. Doodle. Another one. Coloured in Painter7. Again. I’m throwing it up because, why not?
Knuckles(as a wee puggle ) and his mum. Based on the Fleetway Sonic comic. (And you can see another Knuckles & mum doodle here- [link] )
Right, so. Everyone knows that in the Fleetway Sonic comic, Knuckles was born in Tikal’s time. He grew up in Tikal’s time. Right? Well, if you didn’t know it then you know it now. Then, put in suspended animation( we’re never told this, but Sonic assumes it when he goes back and meets Knuckles) he wakes some eight-thousand years, in Sonic’s time.
We do see him in the past. Briefly, in the comic He seems to be a sort of leader amongst the echidna, and wears a white tunic/cloak. But we’re never told anything at all about his family. SO. I designed a mum for him. And there she is. Atlahua.
And on the pic itself-
The staff. Sort of like Tikal’s staff in the comic only pre-dating it a bit. The little spikes are dragon-teeth, because the echidna’s were hunters and even Fleetway’s Mobius had dragons. And the feathers are gryphon/griffon feathers. Atla is a sort of shamaness/mystic I think, like Tikal was maybe… Maybe.
The little winged thingy? Some sort of mini-pet-feathered-dragon. I assume they hang around the echidna’s in hope of scraps of food or something. This one is rather a pet and is wailing at Atla because he’s not the focus of attention anymore. There are bits off in this. Atla’s arm, which I semi fixed but was unable to make shorter than that without redoing the entire pic. And I added in the little ball on afterthought. Knuckles is after racing by and she’s just.. plucked him up. He looks like he’s trying to fly.
As in the comic, he’s wearing white. Maybe Guardian’s are the only ones who were allowed to wear white? Who knows. The pic is unfinished but I’m not going to finish it now. Mostly an experiment in Painter but I DO like it. It’s all light and happy and fluffy.
I've never seen something so elegant as this done with the sonic franchise. It's so beautiful and breathtaking! I only wish you'd make more, it's wonderful. Every detail!
this is breathtaking and spectacular! The atmosphere just looks so ancient and mythical! also, dontcha just love the name for a baby echidna... a puggle? eeee! It just sounds so cute! this is a very amazing picture! It's almost like it was actually taken, the background looks so "like the times."

This experiment is perfect. Nothing else is needed in my opinion.
You've done a wonderful job on colouring, shading and the overall expression of the scene
It is truely a work of art, well done
