This is Sin. Sin is mine. Sin is a Forsaken or Eosphoros - humans have many names for them, those names usually have demon somewhere in the description. Sin was the first of his race and has a long history and thusly a bit of a love-hate relationship with humanity.

He hates humanity; he wants to see it suffer. He loves humanity; he wants to see it triumph.

So Sin, somewhere in his long, long life discovered a strange but sufficient happy medium in that love-hate tendency.
He discovered that it is the greatest of tragedies that brings out the best in the race of man. He discovered that it is the utmost adversity under which humanity flourishes best.

Sin likes humanity to hurt, so it can prevail and push past the constraints that hold it.

Barring that, he can be your best friend if the mood strikes him. He’s tremendously polite, undeniably charming, has got a wicked sense of humour, pretty good dress sense and wants one day to wipe out the human race.

Y’know, just to see if they can prevail through that one.
